Hello!
My name is Lainey Segel and this is a website designed to showcase my Capstone Project for the Writing in Minor. I enjoyed this course, and entire program, because it gave me a chance to experiment with all types of writing. As a political science major I am used to writing research papers with a thesis. This program gave me the chance to deliberatively explore new genres and get feedback from dozens of bright minds.

This project was particularly important to me because it allowed me to take my feminist views and write about them with a creative spin. I have spent a lot of my college career registering voters and advocating for liberal causes. It is easy to explore these ideas in the political science sense- with data and numbers. This medium allowed me to push that boundary of familiarity into the unknown.

A bit about me- I have a lot to be thankful for. I am from Boston, Massachusetts, but have lived in Washington DC, Madrid, and New Hampshire. I love to travel, eat, meet all kinds of people and celebrate half birthdays (as shown on the left).

I hope you enjoy this website, the concept, the layout and the story, as much as I do!
